Prescribed Body Corporate
Tjiwarl Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (Tjiwarl AC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) for the Tjiwarl Native Title Holders. A determination of native title was made by Justice Mortimer at an on-country sitting of the Federal Court of Australia on 27 April 2017 (published as Keith Narrier & Ors v State of Western Australia & Ors [2016] FCA 1519). As a PBC, Tjiwarl AC represent the Native Title Holders and protect their native title rights and interests.
Healthy Country
The Healthy Country Program is designed to preserve the significant cultural and natural resources on Tjiwarl country. This includes land management activities delivered by the Ranger Program, collaboration with State government and mining and exploration companies, and return to country camping trips that provide opportunities for families to practice culture and intergenerational knowledge transfer.
